Know What To Bring When Carp Fishing

By Casper Vivianodeni

Carp fishing is a fun and challenging sport. The carp fish can grow to mammoth sizes making them a satisfying catch. The sport has always been popular in some places in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom. It is also becoming more popular in the United States where the fish has been introduced in many water systems improperly. If you want to go to a carp fishing escapade, make sure that you bring two types of things: your personal needs and your angling needs.

Things to bring for comfort:

The outfit for carp fishing is just like in any other fishing trip. There are some outfits though that you must consider depending on some factors like the weather conditions. If the area where you will fish has strong wind, you may want to bring a windbreaker. If the weather forecast suggests rain, bring extra clothes and specialized clothing for rain.

You should also pack food to be prepared for long trips without a restaurant nearby. You may bring alcoholic beverages but you must drink moderately to avoid accidents. In general, you must not bring hard drinks.

Overnight equipments such as tents and sleeping bags are also important if you are planning to camp out. You may also check in on hotels if you are not really fond of camping. The fishing gear

Bring your own carp tackle so that you will be able to make adjustments on it unlike with rented tackles. If you don't have a tackle, you could either buy one or find a place where they do rent tackles. Baits and carp rigs are also essential. Baits and rigs come in many shapes and sizes. Use multiple types of bait to test out which ones are more effective in attracting carps. For beginners, boilies are usually the bait of choice. You may also bring homemade baits if you feel like experimenting. Just have some extra commercial bait just to be safe.

Together with the usual tackle also bring tools that will keep the fish safe such as unhooking mats and nets if you are going to fish in a catch and release lake or river.
